Workshop Provides Guidance on Designing Research Studies to Improve the Use of Study Results

Forty-four researchers representing 23 countries attended MEASURE Evaluation’s “Designing High Impact Research” pre-conference workshops as part of IUSSP’s 2009 International Population Conference held in Marrakech, Morocco. The workshops covered data use concepts, approaches and tools that can be applied to the research process to improve data use.

Forty-four researchers representing 23 countries attended MEASURE Evaluation’s “Designing High Impact Research” pre-conference workshops as part of International Union for the Scientific Study of Population's (IUSSP) 2009 International Population Conference held in Marrakech, Morocco. The five-hour workshops covered data use concepts, approaches and tools that can be applied to the research process to improve data use.

The learning objectives of the workshop included: identifying program and policy relevant research topics, involving key decision makers in the research process, extracting program and policy recommendations from research findings and, packaging and communicating research results to facilitate their use in decision-making.
