The Presenters and Speakers
Gretchen Bachman, MBA, is the Team Leader and Sr. Advisor for Orphans and Vulnerable Children at the Office of HIV/AIDS at USAID. She is also currently acting Sr. Advisor for OVC at the State Department's Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator. Gretchen has worked in the field of international development since 1993 throughout Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, focusing on projects to improve the health and socio-economic well-being of women and children.
Christine Fu, PhD, is the Senior Research and Evaluation Advisor for the OVC Branch at USAID. She has nine years of experience evaluating public health and poverty reduction programs in resource-poor settings internationally. She has conducted social science research and evaluation of child well-being programs, such as disaster mental health and psycho-social supports of children and youth in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, psycho-social rehabilitation and recovery of out-of-school youth in Liberia, adolescent sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence in sub-Saharan Africa and peer networks and social capital among HIV positive youth in the Caribbean. She is passionate about generating and translating research into better health and well-being outcomes for orphans and vulnerable children, their families, and their communities.
Lisa Parker, PhD, has more than 15 years of experience working in the fields of public health, monitoring and evaluation, and international development with a focus on HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, household economic strengthening, and vulnerable children. She is a Senior Technical Advisor within the Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions practice at Palladium. She oversees the MEASURE Evaluation OVC portfolio and currently supports OVC related evaluations in Rwanda, Cote d’Ivoire, and Botswana.
Lisa Marie Albert, MS, MPH, is a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Technical Advisor for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) programs within the Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions practice at Palladium. She is currently co-investigator on an OVC baseline study in Cote d’Ivoire and under MEASURE Evaluation is the administrator for the OVCimpact.org website and helps support the OVC MER survey in Nigeria.
Jenifer Chapman, PhD, is a Technical Director within the Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions practice at Palladium, with 15 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of community-based programs. Jenifer oversees Palladium’s global OVC M&E portfolio, and is currently the Principal Investigator on five OVC-focused evaluations/research studies, including PEPFAR MER surveys in Mozambique and Tanzania.
Walter Obiero, PhD, MA, is a Technical Advisor within the Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions practice at Palladium with over 16 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, and research. Walter is currently managing the OVC MER surveys in Namibia and Nigeria.
Susan Settergren, MPD, MS, is a Technical Director within the Data, Informatics, and Analytical Solutions practice at Palladium. She has led health program design, planning, and evaluation activities throughout Africa for more than 25 years. Currently, under MEASURE Evaluation she manages the OVC MER studies in Kenya and Lesotho.
