New Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Resources
The MEASURE Evaluation project helps the health sector in developing countries use geospatial tools such as geographic information systems (GIS) to provide a more complete understanding of health in a community. A key capability of GIS is its ability to link data from multiple sources and examine the underlying geography to provide a richer comprehension of the data. For example: How do road networks affect health services access? How do water sources affect people’s health? How does terrain make communities more or less vulnerable to shocks such as floods and earthquakes?
In addition to using GIS for regional and national programs, this approach also informs global health concerns for analysis, data visualizations by country and program area, supply chain and service quality, budget allocations, and equity and epidemiologic data. Professionals who are adept at working with GIS tools and systems will be increasingly in demand.

GIS Step by Step Mini-Tutorials
The online GIS mini-tutorials are practical, self-instructional tools that reinforce GIS concepts introduced by MEASURE Evaluation resources and support successful GIS application and use in informing HIV/AIDS program decision making.
Geographic Approaches to Global Health
The downloadable course teaches how to use spatial data to enhance the decision-making process for health program implementation in limited-resource settings.
GIS Techniques for M&E of HIV/AIDS and Related Programs
This downloadable course presents a practical guide for using a GIS to integrate, visualize, and analyze geographically referenced data extracted from the Demographic and Health Surveys and other key data sets to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS and related health programs.
Geospatial Analysis: Innovation in GIS for Better Decision Making
