Abstract:

Using a venue-based approach, the PLACE Method lays out a step-by-step method for monitoring AIDS prevention among most-at-risk populations. This manual provides readers with an in-depth guide for using this method, which is designed for implementation within a short period of time by local personnel equipped with a word-processing program and freely available data entry, analysis, and mapping programs such as Epi-Info. The method includes participatory feedback workshops to ensure that results are used to tailor local interventions.
