The Health Management Information System and Monitoring and Evaluation (HMIS/M&E) strategy is one of the pivotal components of the Health Sector Development Program (HSDP) of the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH). The FMOH adopted a “One Plan, One & Budget One Report” policy with the aim of improving management and optimum use of resources for making timely decisions and considers HMIS/M&E as the core information component of effective health care delivery. At the request of the FMOH, USAID/Ethiopia asked JSI, through MEASURE Evaluation, to assist in the scale-up of the reformed HMIS/M&E in Southern Nations and Nationalities People’s Region (SNNPR) in particular, and to work with FMOH on strategies for a national Health Information System (HIS) in general. In this regard, this report involves the Electronic Health Management Information System (eHMIS).
