Abstract:

The 2002 DISH Facility Survey (DFS) was undertaken as part of a series of DISH Evaluation Surveys designed to measure changes in reproductive, maternal and child health knowledge and behaviors in DISH project districts. Results from these surveys have been used to monitor the progress of DISH activities and to evaluate project impact. Three rounds of population and facility-based surveys were conducted in 1997, 1999, and 2002. This 130-page report details the surveys and their findings in the following areas: trends in facility-based indicators betwteen 1997 and 2002: quality of antenatal care; quality of sick-child care; and basic standards of quality health care services.
