Abstract:

The Lesotho Strategic Information Systems Assessment (SISA) was intended to produce a common understanding among HIV/AIDS stakeholders regarding strategic information mandates, data availability, data collection and use activities and other plans dealing with strategic information collection and use in Lesotho. This report collects and details strengths, weaknesses, and predicted changes to the SI capabilites of Lesotho's healthcare system. Data were collected from key informats with technical experience and skills in national M&E capacity and coordination; policy; population-based surveys; facility-based surveys; HIV and AIDS surveillance; routine facility-based HIV/AIDS service statistics; ART client monitoring and managment; community-based program monitoring; and national databases.
