Abstract:

The Zambia Sexual Behavior Survey (ZSBS) 2005 is the fourth in a series of surveys designed to monitor knowledge, attitudes and behaviors regarding HIV/AIDS in Zambia. The ZSBS obtains national estimates of international standardized indicators importeant to monitoring progress of Zambia's HIV/AIDS/STD program. The ZSBS 2005 interviewed a nationally representative sample of Zambians about their beliefs about HIV transmission, their sexual behaviors, whether or not they had been tested for HIV, and other important questions. The 2005 ZSBS also identified the prevalence of orphans and the proportion of the population exposed to Youth Peer Education.
