PLACE is a rapid assessment tool to monitor and improve AIDS prevention program coverage in areas where HIV transmission is most likely to occur. An important aspect of the PLACE method is the creation of maps. This paper discusses the mapping of priority prevention areas that can inform HIV/AIDS prevention activities. Seeing the geographic distribution of sexual network sites over the assessment area can show how and where sites are grouped.
