MEASURE Evaluation worked in Cameroon on monitoring programs to assist orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV and combatting malaria in the country. The work, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), mainly focused on technical support to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) through its senior malaria resident advisor to strengthen malaria surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation (SME); malaria data quality; and capacity strengthening for the NMCP staff. Also, MEASURE Evaluation worked to strengthen integration and reporting of malaria data into DHIS 2 at central and regional levels, in concert with the Cellule des Informations Sanitaires (CIS) team and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Cameroon.

Along with other stakeholders (i.e., the United States President’s Malaria Initiative [PMI], Impact Malaria, WHO, The Global Fund, and the Ministry of Health), MEASURE Evaluation contributed to the development and finalization of the NMCP’s National Strategic Plan (NSP), leading the M&E section framework and indicators development.

MEASURE Evaluation updated and disseminated materials for implementing the M&E Capacity Assessment Toolkit (MECAT) for the NMCP capacity strengthening, including workshop trainings for national-level staff and provincial and health zone staff.
